Mo Farah confirms his Great North City Games participation

Great Britain's 5,000m world champion Mo Farah has confirmed that he will take part in the Great North City Games this Saturday.

The event, which is taking place at Gateshead Quayside, will see Great Britain and Northern Ireland take on the USA in a team contest.

"I'm looking forward to returning to Newcastle," said Farah, who also claimed 10,000m silver in Daegu.

"I'm always happy to run for my country and even though I now live in the US, I'll be trying my best to make sure we beat them in the team competition."

World Athletics Championships medallists Hannah England and Andy Turner will also represent the British team.
