Double Olympic gold medallist Mo Farah completed just under half of the London Marathon as planned this morning.
The 30-year-old is planning to run the full race next year and was running half as part of his preparations for 2014.
"Next year I'll come and do the full marathon," he told BBC Sport.
"I've learned the biggest lesson of my life. If I had come here next year and made a mess of the race I don't think I could have dealt with that."
Farah's compatriot David Weir couldn't win a seventh men's wheelchair marathon as he came home fifth earlier this morning.
