Olympic champion Jessica Ennis-Hill could retire after Rio this summer

Olympic champion Jessica Ennis-Hill reveals that she may consider retiring after this summer's Games in Rio.

Olympic heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis-Hill has admitted that she could retire from athletics at the end of the Rio Games this summer.

The 30-year-old, who is currently recovering from an Achilles injury, will try to defend her title in Brazil, one year after she won gold at the World Championships in Beijing.

"I think at the moment I'm just focused on Rio and being the best prepared I can and going out there and seeing what I can do," ITV Sport quotes Ennis-Hill as saying.

"And then it's going to be a decision to make after Rio for me - whether I decide to retire after Rio or whether I decide I want to do one more year and go to the World Championships and retire after that, but I definitely won't be going on any longer than 2017."

Ennis-Hill has won five gold medals in major competitions during her career.
