Ennis-Hill backs Johnson-Thompson for Glasgow

Olympic heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis-Hill believes that her fellow Brit Katarina Johnson-Thompson will have a "fantastic" Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this summer.

The 21-year-old is expected to lead the way for Great Britain due to Ennis-Hill withdrawing from contention after announcing her pregnancy back in January.

"I think it's going to be a fantastic championships for her," Ennis-Hill told BBC Radio 5 live. "I think showing what she's showed already so early on in the season, she's in absolutely incredible form and she's only going to take that into the summer.

"I think the Commonwealth Games this year is a great championships for her to show what she's got and I think she's really capable of winning the gold medal in Glasgow."

Johnson-Thompson won her first major medal by scooping silver in the long jump at the World Indoor Championships this month.
