David Rudisha suffers injury in Ostrava

Olympic 800m champion David Rudisha is forced to withdraw from his 600m race in Ostrava due to injury.

David Rudisha has revealed that he does not expect to be sidelined for longer than a week after suffering an injury in Ostrava on Tuesday night.

The Olympic 800m champion was forced to pull up during the early stages of his 600m race in the Czech Republic, but the Kenyan has dismissed fears that he could be ruled out for an extended period of time.

The 26-year-old tweeted: "Very unfortunate that I pulled my muscle after 100m. But it is not a serious injury.

"It's just a thigh muscle spasm, not a serious problem. With a few days of good care, I hope to be back in training."

Rudisha will hope to regain his world title this summer in Beijing after missing the 2013 Championships through injury.
