Bolt runs fastest 100m this year

Usain Bolt sent out an ominous message ahead of this summer's Olympics by running the fastest 100m time of the year in his first race of 2012.

The 25-year-old clocked 9.82 seconds at the Jamaica International Invitational in Kingston to finish ahead of fellow Jamaicans Michael Frater and Lerone Clarke.

The 2008 Beijing gold medallist faces trials for London 2012 next month.

Great Britain's Christine Ohuruogo was a second off-the-pace in finishing third in the 400m while Larry Achike took second in the triple jump.
