Dina Asher-Smith excited ahead of 200m test at Birmingham Grand Prix

British sprinter Dina Asher-Smith admits that she is excited to test herself against world-class opposition in the 200m at next month's Birmingham Grand Prix.

British sprinter Dina Asher-Smith has revealed that she is relishing the prospect of competing against a world-class field in Birmingham next month.

Asher-Smith, who broke the British 100m record last weekend, will go up against Allyson Felix and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce in the 200m on June 7, and the London athlete has admitted that she is looking forward to the experience at the Alexander Stadium.

The 19-year-old told the British Athletics official website: "I'm excited to run my first 200m of the year at the Sainsbury's Birmingham Grand Prix.

"I was surprised to run a British record over 100m last week, but I was really happy with it and hopefully I can convert it into a good 200m in Birmingham.

"The field will be as good as a global final so it's a great opportunity for me to compete against some of the best sprinters in the world."

Last year, Asher-Smith won the world junior title at 100m, while she has previously won the European junior crown at 200m.
