Olympics 'superfan' Conrad Readman dies of suspected heart attack

Olympics 'superfan' passes away

Sports fanatic Conrad Readman has died of a suspected heart attack after falling ill during Great Britain's Victoria Pendleton's and men's team pursuit victories on Friday.

The 49-year-old, who spent months hunting down tickets for every day of the two-week Games, was discovered in the toilets at the velodrome on Friday night.

Readman, a chartered accountant, saw up to three events a day, including the Opening Ceremony, which was broadcast to the world from the Olympic Stadium just under a fortnight ago.

It is understood that the Olympics fan from Colchester passed away while Pendleton clinched gold in the women's Keirin.
