Lord Moynihan has stepped down as Chairman of the British Olympic Association after seven years at the helm.

It is understood that the departure is an amicable one, with Moynihan to continue in a smaller capacity.

The 56-year-old has held the position since October 2005 - three months after London were awarded the 2012 Olympics.

Team GB claimed 65 medals at the Games.
