Colin Jackson blasts the inclusion of sprinter Dwain Chambers in Team GB for the upcoming Olympic Games.

Colin Jackson has expressed his anger at the decision to include sprinter Dwain Chambers in the Great Britain squad for the upcoming Olympic Games in London.

Chambers received a two-year ban in 2004 when he tested positive for the banned steroid THG.

At the time, the British Olympic Association had a rule in place which prevented drug cheats from ever competing in the Games. However, that has since been overturned following an appeal by WADA, which has allowed Chambers to claim a place in Team GB.

Nevertheless, former British hurdler Jackson is adamant that 34-year-old Chambers should have declined the invitation.

"As London 2012 draws ever closer, one sprinter should not be in that team - Dwain Chambers," he wrote in The People. "When Dwain Chambers took drugs, he knew there was an Olympic ban in place because at the time those were the rules.

"He knew that if he got caught, he would never compete at the Olympic Games. It had been clear from way back when.

"So when he was selected for 2012, after the British Olympic Association lost their drugs bylaw ban, Dwain should have stepped down. Had he stood down, he would have gained so much integrity."

Jackson won silver at the 1988 Games in Seoul.
