England pulls out of Olympic trials

Hannah England has been forced to withdraw from a Great British Olympic qualifying event at Crystal Palace this weekend.

The 1500m runner, who won silver at the World Championships in South Korea last year, is currently suffering with an Achilles complaint.

Despite admitting that she is "disappointed" not to be competing, the 25-year-old insisted that she pulled out to ensure that she does not aggravate the injury any further.

"Of course I'm disappointed to miss the Olympic Trials," she said. "Last year I won there and it was the start of an incredible season. I have to be sensible, if I run too early I could ruin my season."

England has also competed over 800m and one mile.
