Dwain Chambers has been included in the Great Britain athletics team for the 2012 Olympics in London.

The 34-year-old has been picked for the 100m – along with Adam Gemili and James Dasaolu – and he will also take part in the 4x100m relay.

Chambers was banned for two years in 2003 after testing positive for a banned substance, but his long battle has ended in success.

"To be given the opportunity to [compete] in my hometown has been a dream that at times has seemed very distant and is now a reality," Chambers told reporters.

"It is now my responsibility to prepare fully for the 100m, the relay, to support all my fellow athletes and all my other colleagues within Team GB.

"It is a very proud day and I thank the selectors for the confidence and faith they have placed in me."

Jessica Ennis makes her Olympic debut, alongside European high jump champion Robbie Grabarz.

Phillip Idowu – Beijing 2008 triple jump silver medallist – will also take part in his fourth games alongside sprinter Christian Malcolm and 400m champion Christine Ohuruogu.

The Games start on July 27.
