Bach favourite for IOC presidency

German candidate Thomas Bach is reportedly expected to be named as the new president of the International Olympic Committee.

The 59-year-old, who won gold in fencing at the 1976 Games, is one of six figures being considered for the position.

It is understood that Bach is favourite to be named as Jacques Rogge's successor this afternoon following a secret ballot, according to BBC Sport.

Rogge has held the post for the last 12 years.
