Mike Shanahan pleased with tight end options

Mike Shanahan is pleased with the offensive options at his disposal.

Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan has admitted that having four tight ends on the roster gives him plenty of options on match day.

Shanahan said that he will be able to rotate his players this season, with his tight ends also able to double up as wide receivers when required.

"It gives you a lot of flexibility," he told the club's official website. "You can use tight ends as wide receivers.

"Obviously anytime you have four guys up or three guys up, it gives you the flexibility to do a number of different things on offense.

"Yeah, I have [had a high number of tight ends before], but not very often. Usually you don't have four legitimate tight ends."

The Redskins were edged out in their opening game by the Philadelphia Eagles.
