Washington Redskins duo pulled apart after fight during practice

Washington Redskins players separate Bashaud Breeland and Andre Roberts as the pair exchange heated words in training.

Washington Redskins pair Bashaud Breeland and Andre Roberts exchanged punches during the individual portion of Wednesday's practice, according to reports.

ESPN reports that a pass play between the duo ended with cornerback Breeland breaking up a throw aimed for wide receiver Roberts, and a collision ensuing as they fell to ground.

On the next play shortly after, both men exchanged words, resulting in Roberts slamming his helmet to the ground and throwing a punch in Breeland's direction.

The rookie responded with one of his own before trying to tackle his teammate.

Safety Ryan Clark, corner EJ Biggers and wideout Ryan Grant were all involved in breaking up the incident, although Breeland and Roberts continued to attack each other verbally from afar.

Quickly, Redskins officials closed the practice session to the media, though the scuffle was thought to be near the end of the practice anyway.

This is the latest in a number of incidents that coach Jay Gruden has had to deal with during a difficult first campaign in charge of the team.

Gruden's men sit at the bottom of the NFC East, with a 3-10 record from their 13 matches so far.
