Josh Morgan: 'Fumble touchdown was planned'

Josh Morgan says that Robert Griffin III intentionally fumbled the ball to set him up for a touchdown against the New York Giants.

Josh Morgan and Robert Griffin III have said that the play that resulted in the Washington Redskins' first touchdown against the New York Giants was planned.

The Redskins' quarterback appeared to fumble the ball, but Morgan recovered it and ran in for a touchdown.

The wide receiver told the Washington Post: "Basically it was an option play. It didn't work out exactly how we planned it in school. But basically, the result, it was the same.

"I saw the follow-through with the arms. He threw a perfect chest-pass pitch, and it ended up working out."

RG3 added: "It was totally by design. I knew Josh was going to be there ready for that touchdown, so that's what we did."

The Redskins went on to win the game by a single point.
