Smith to be Fitzpatrick's backup

The Tennessee Titans have signed quarterback Rusty Smith from their practice squad ahead of today's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Ryan Fitzpatrick will be the team's starting quarterback while Jake Locker recovers from a hip sprain.

The 26-year-old is in his fourth season with the Titans, having been a sixth-round Draft pick during 2010.

Tennessee have won three of their first four games of the 2013 campaign.
