Griffin: 'I could be salary cap casualty'

Michael Griffin has said that he would not be surprised to be cut to help the Tennessee Titans meet their salary cap requirements next season.

The safety signed a four-year contract worth an estimated $35m (£21.3m) in 2012, but is due to take up $8m on their 2014 cap.

The 29-year-old told The Tennessean: "I realise I count $8m toward the salary cap, so I have to worry about myself. At the end of the day, I am questioning my fate. You have to ask yourself, do they think you are worth that? I hope so, but this is a business."

Griffin, who was a first-round Draft pick in 2007, made 61 tackles, one interception and two forced fumbles in 2013.
