Logan Mankins refuses to speak on Super Bowl XLII

Logan Mankins refuses to discuss the New England Patriots' 2008 defeat to the New York Giants.

New England Patriots guard Logan Mankins has refused to speak about the team's 2008 Super Bowl defeat to the New York Giants ahead of their rematch next weekend.

Mankins, who is one of the few remaining starters on New England's roster, was asked at a press conference this week to explain how New York's defensive front were able to put so much pressure on the favourties in that game.

However, he declined to answer.

"That was four years ago," he said. "Next question."

Despite being led by the same signal-callers, both the Giants and Patriots are to field largely different lineups this year than they did during the latter's 18-1 season.

Sure-fire Hall of Famers Michael Strahan and Randy Moss have retired. In their place, the likes of Jason Pierre-Paul, Rob Gronkowski and Hakeem Nicks have been tipped to shine.
