Brian Schottenheimer not leaving St Louis Rams

Brian Schottenheimer will be keeping his offensive coordinator post with the St Louis Rams after missing out on the head coach vacancy with Vanderbilt.

The college side interviewed the 40-year-old for the role, but decided to appoint Stanford defensive coordinator Derek Mason instead.

Schottenheimer has spent two season with the NFC West side, who had their highest points total since 2006 this season.

The Rams have not made the playoffs since 2004.
