Seattle Seahawks open to Matt Flynn trade

Seahawks open to Flynn trade

The Seattle Seahawks have said that they would be open to trading backup quarterback Matt Flynn.

The NFC West side signed the 27-year-old from the Green Bay Packers ahead of the 2012 season, but handed the starting role to rookie Russell Wilson.

Seahawks general manager John Schneider told reporters: "We're going to listen to everything. I don't think anybody in the National Football League's content to be a backup, so I wouldn't think he's content, no.

"I think that he obviously would want an opportunity to start, and he's extremely confident in his abilities. That's why he came to Seattle. He wanted this to be his team."

Flynn played in just three games in 2012, making five complete passes for 68 yards.
