Percy Harvin to undergo hip surgery

Percy Harvin has confirmed that he will need surgery to mend a hip injury sustained during training camp.

The Seattle Seahawks wide receiver flew to New York yesterday to seek a second opinion on the injury.

The 25-year-old tweeted: "When everything is going good sometimes life throw u a curve ball... sorry to [have] to report that my injury will require surgery.

"Nobody was more anxious and excited about season then....but I will be back strong as ever. I appreciate all the love and prayers 12th man."

NFL.com reports that Harvin will undergo the operation tomorrow and that he is expected to miss three to four months while recovering.
