Corey Lemonier: 'I'm not trying to be Aldon Smith'

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Corey Lemonier says that he is not trying to copy teammate Aldon Smith.

Corey Lemonier has insisted that he has a different playing style to San Francisco 49ers teammate Aldon Smith.

The rookie outside linebacker has been working alongside Smith, who plays the same position, during training camp, before making his NFL debut against the Denver Broncos last week.

The 21-year-old told the 49ers' official website: "He has his set of moves, and I'm trying to work on them, but he's just different. I'm more of a speed guy, so I have to work on my speed rush.

"[Defensive line coach Jim Tomsula] continues telling me to stop thinking about moves and just rush and attack the edge, and the moves will come off that. I'm trying to start from square one and see what happens.

"Finally getting to play to my first NFL game, it was an experience, and I will remember it forever and ever, but I'm not satisfied because I didn't get a sack. I just have to keep working at it, and eventually it will come."

Smith was the team's leading sack-taker in 2012 with 19.5.
