Marcus Lattimore hoping to progress past first-choice running back Frank Gore

San Francisco 49ers running back Marcus Lattimore reveals that he wants to progress past current first-choice pick Frank Gore as the team's leading RB.

San Francisco 49ers running back Marcus Lattimore has revealed that he wants to knock Frank Gore off his perch and become the team's leading RB.

Gore is labelled as one of the best backs in the NFL, though Lattimore is hoping that he can play well enough in this year's summer camps to prove his worth as a contender.

"I'm trying to take [Gore's] job, but I know that's going to be the hardest thing in the world," Lattimore told USA Today, according to the official NFL website.

Before reaching Gore however, Lattimore will also need to prove his worth more so than fellow hopefuls Carlos Hyde and Kendall Hunter.
