Jim Harbaugh: 'Lawrence Okoye is a great physical specimen'

Jim Harbaugh has praised Lawrence Okoye's physical attributes after the British discus record holder signed for the San Francisco 49ers.

The 21-year-old, who is expected to be a defensive end, joined the Super Bowl runners-up as a free agent at the weekend.

The head coach told reporters: "He's just an Adonis, just a great physical specimen of a man. I can think of some other adjectives. Our Creator created a beautiful man.

"So, you maybe start to put the pieces together and say, taking on football at this time in his life, I can see this guy doing it."

Okoye impressed NFL scouts during workouts at the regional combines earlier this month, despite having never played American football before.
