Frank Gore: 'We knew we couldn't lose"

Frank Gore has said that the San Francisco 49ers had to avoid defeat against the St Louis Rams last night.

Last season's NFC West champions beat their divisional rivals 35-11, securing their first victory since the opening week of the season.

The running back told reporters: "The 49ers are all about winning. It was a get-back-on-track game. We knew we couldn't lose again.

"[Left guard Mike] Iupati did a great job. I just read it. I have to give [Colin Kaepernick] some love, everyone was dogging him. As long as we're the 49ers we'll be alright."

Gore recorded 153 rushing yards and a touchdown last night.
