Result: Mullens stars on 49ers debut

It was a debut to remember for the 49ers quarterback.

Nick Mullens threw three touchdowns as he led the San Francisco 49ers to a 34-3 demolition of the Oakland Raiders on debut.

Mullens, signed to the Niners as an undrafted free agent in 2017, was called up following injuries to starter Jimmy Garoppolo and his replacement CJ Beathard.

He completed 16 of 22 passes for 262 yards and no interceptions for a passer rating of 151.9, the highest for a quarterback on debut since 1970.

The Raiders drew first blood with a Daniel Carlson field goal from 37 yards after 5:30, but it was all one-way traffic from then on.

Mullens found Pierre Garcon for a 24-yard score and the second touchdown came early in the second period with a Kendrick Bourne four-yard pass.

A pair of Robbie Gould field goals were the bookends to two more visits to the end zone – including a Raheem Mostert 52-yard run, as the 49ers improved to 2-7.
