The New England Patriots have booked their place at Super Bowl XLVI with a 23-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC championship game.

The Patriots, led by quarterback Tom Brady, will face New York Giants in Indianapolis on February 5.

Brady failed to put on his usual impressive display, throwing two interceptions and not making a touchdown pass.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis got a second-quarter touchdown run for the Pats and Stephen Gostkowski provided three field goals, before a Brady touchdown on a one-yard quarterback sneak put the Patriots ahead in the fourth.

Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco made two touchdown passes, one to tight end Dennis Pitta in the second quarter and one to wide receiver Torrey Smith in the third.

Baltimore's place kicker Billy Cundiff missed a 32-yard field goal attempt with 11 seconds of the game remaining that could have forced overtime, handing the Patriots their seventh Super Bowl appearance.

The Patriots won the Super Bowl in the 2001, 2003 and 2004 seasons.
