Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is pleased with changes to the team's offense in preparation for the 2013 NFL season.

Ben Roethlisberger has said that changes to the Pittsburgh Steelers' offense have made the team "a lot better".

Last season, the quarterback was critical of the team's offensive system, questioning the play calling by offensive coordinator Todd Haley.

The 31-year-old told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: "There's been some changes this off-season in some of the offensive philosophies, playbook and some things that I think are good.

"It's some compromise from all the different position coaches, the running back coaches, the line, and quarterback coaches. I think we've taken a little bit of everything and made it a lot better."

The Steelers failed to secure a playoff spot in 2012, finishing third in the AFC North division.
