Andy Reid: 'Michael Vick won't regain starting place at Philadelphia Eagles'

Reid: 'Vick won't regain starting place'

Andy Reid has said that Nick Foles will be the Philadelphia Eagles' starting quarterback for the rest of the season, even when Michael Vick recovers from a concussion.

Vick has yet to pass the NFL's concussion protocol after picking up the head injury almost a month ago.

The Eagles coach said: "Number one, I just think [Foles is] playing well enough to where I think he can win football games for us, and number two, I think where we sit at this position in the season, I think it's the right thing to do.

"You see the footwork is better when he's throwing the football. It's allowing us to add more into his repertoire of throws and he's been working very hard on that.

"With Michael, we need to make sure he gets healthy. This thing has carried on a while here now and I want to make sure he is good to go."

The Eagles have won only three of their 12 games this year, and have lost eight in a row after losing to division rivals Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
