Maclin to miss season with knee injury

The Philadelphia Eagles have announced that Jeremy Maclin will miss the 2013 NFL season after sustaining a knee ligament injury in practice.

The wide receiver, who was entering his fifth season in the league, tore his anterior cruciate ligament on Saturday.

After the injury was confirmed, the 25-year-old tweeted: "Appreciate all the love and support twitter fam....sad day but I have setbacks my entire life. Minor setback."

Teammate DeSean Jackson told the Eagles' official website: "He just came off the line of scrimmage, and his knee buckled a little bit, it's an unfortunate situation."

Maclin scored seven touchdowns and recorded 857 receiving yards in 2012.
