Nick Foles "honoured" to tie touchdown record

Foles "honoured" to tie touchdown record

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles has said that it is a "great honour" to have tied the all-time record for touchdown passes in a single game.

Foles, who was playing due to an injury to usual starting quarterback Michael Vick, made seven touchdown passes and threw for 406 yards as the Eagles ended their offensive struggles with a 49-20 win over the Oakland Raiders yesterday.

The 24-year-old revealed that he was unaware of having becoming the seventh player to reach the historic mark until he was told by his teammates.

"A couple people came up to me and said that I tied the record with seven touchdowns. It's a great honour. Hats off to our guys for doing a great job," Foles told The AP.

Foles becomes the second player this season to have thrown seven touchdown passes in a game, following on from Peyton Manning, who achieved the feat for the Denver Broncos in the opening match of the campaign.
