Woodson urges Raiders to bring in Jackson

Oakland Raiders safety Charles Woodson has urged his side to sign wide receiver DeSean Jackson as he believes that the pacey wideout would improve the team's offense.

Woodson said that although Jackson was being looked at by a number of clubs, including the New York Jets, he was the sort of player that former owner Al Davis would have been in for.

"Bring him in," Woodson told KGMZ-FM. "I think he would look good in the silver and black. Of course I know the business side of it, but I've watched this guy and what he is, is a dynamic football player.

"There is no question in my mind that this is the type of player that Al would bring in. You hear about the off-field stuff but I don't think Al would concern himself with that too much. I think Al would do his homework. But I think he would take a serious hard look, and if there was an opportunity I think he would bring that guy in."

Jackson has spent six years in the NFL so far, all with the Philadelphia Eagles.
