Oakland Raiders to demolish O.co Coliseum?

The Oakland Raiders are reportedly in talks to knock down the O.co Coliseum in order to build a new stadium.

The Oakland Raiders have reportedly opened talks over demolishing their O.co Coliseum to make way for a new stadium.

The facility, which is the only NFL ground shared with a Major League Baseball side, opened in 1966, and last underwent a renovation in 1996.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the Oakland Athletics have been in talks to extend their stay at the Coliseum by 10 years, but the Raiders are keen to have the stadium knocked down next year with a view to opening a new facility in 2018.

The report adds that the NFC West side are "making arrangements" to play elsewhere while the proposed new stadium, known as Coliseum City, is constructed.
