Chris Johnson wants more running at New York Jets

New York Jets running back Chris Johnson states that he wants his team to make more of a concerted effort to allow him and Chris Ivory to run with the ball.

New York Jets running back Chris Johnson has revealed that he wants his team to run the ball more this campaign.

The Jets have struggled to find a balance come week four, with the side pushing towards quarterback Geno Smith instead of turning more to Johnson and Chris Ivory.

"Of course we want to run the ball more times and get into where we run the ball 35, 40 times a game, and give us both the opportunity to get a chance to run the ball hard," said Johnson, according to the New York Post.

"I know we both envisioned probably getting more carries, not just us both getting 10, 12 apiece. Probably more than that. A lot of times, you've got to go how the game goes, and we've been put in situations where we've had to throw the ball."

The Jets are currently 1-2 and face the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
