Half-Time Report: New Orleans Saints holding off Indianapolis Colts in shutout

The New Orleans Saints are winning 20-0 against the Indianapolis Colts as the home side fail to score in the first half.

The New Orleans Saints shut out the Indianapolis Colts in their own stadium in the first half as the away side lead 20-0.

New Orleans got themselves in front at the end of the first quarter after a successful fake field-goal, where holder Luke McCown threw to Benjamin Watson for the first down near the goalline before running back Khiry Robinson pounded the ball home for the one-yard touchdown.

Colts quarterback Andrew Luck then threw away the ball to Saints linebacker Stephone Anthony, which eventually led to Robinson running the ball in from seven yards out for his second touchdown of the day.

Indianapolis's first half did not get much better moments later after Griff Whalen fumbled the kickoff and that turnover led to Drew Brees passing to Michael Hoomanawanui for a 16-yard touchdown, although Kai Forbath missed the extra point.

The Saints looked to strengthen their lead late in the third quarter after Mark Ingram hit a big 44-yard run but Brees was picked off in the endzone by Vontae Davis to prevent a touchdown.

However, the Colts could not take advantage as Luck was intercepted for the second time by Kyle Wilson late in the half as the Saints head into the break with a comfortable lead.
