Report: New England Patriots set to sign linebacker Jabaal Sheard

The New England Patriots are set to sign linebacker Jabaal Sheard on a two-year deal, according to reports.

The 25-year-old has seen his role reduced in the last two seasons with the Cleveland Browns, and he started just five games last year.

NFL Media reports that Sheard's two-year contract with the Super Bowl champions is worth £7.4m, with £3.7m guaranteed.

Sheard earned 15.5 sacks in his first two years in the NFL, but he got just two last season.
