Stephen Gostkowski to become highest-paid kicker with four-year contract?

New England Patriots placekicker Stephen Gostkowski is reportedly due to become the highest-paid kick specialist in the NFL after agreeing a new contract with the team.

According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, New England have agreed a four-year deal with Gostkowski ahead of Wednesday's deadline, which is thought to be worth in the region of $17.2m (£10.8m).

The 31-year-old has proven to be a vital part of the current New England side, after completing 92.7% and 94.6% of his field-goal attempts over the past two seasons.

Gostkowski has spent his entire career at the Patriots, having joined back in 2006.
