Tim Tebow to join New England Patriots

The New England Patriots have agreed to sign free agent quarterback Tim Tebow.

Head coach Bill Belichick is due to hold a press conference later today, with the former New York Jets QB expected to sign a contract in time for the team's mandatory minicamp.

The 2007 Heisman Trophy winner joins quarterbacks Tom Brady and Ryan Mallett on the franchise's roster.

Belichick recently denied reports that he 'hates' the Tebow as a player, but said that he was not looking to sign 25-year-old.

Tebow began his NFL career with the Denver Broncos, helping them to the playoffs in 2011 before being traded to the Jets, where he failed to win the starting job.
