Tom Brady happy with New England Patriots receivers

Brady happy with receivers

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has insisted that he is happy with his current crop of receivers.

The Patriots fell to defeat in the AFC championship game for the second consecutive season on Sunday, scoring just 16 points against the Denver Broncos with Brady only finding a receiver for a touchdown once in the match.

That led some to suggest that the Patriots lacked athleticism from their receivers, but Brady has defended his teammates, claiming that they brought a wide set of skills to the game.

"I had a Randy Moss at one point, and he was pretty good at that," Brady told WEEI when asked if he wished he had more athletic targets.

"We have a really good skills set of receivers in Julian [Edelman], and the way Austin [Collie] played yesterday, and Danny [Amendola], you know, played his heart out.

"So we had plenty there yesterday. We just couldn't do enough early in the game to put pressure on them."

The result saw the Broncos progress into the Super Bowl, where they will face the Seattle Seahawks on February 2.
