Report: Peterson considering groin surgery

Adrian Peterson has reportedly been told that he may need groin surgery during the off-season.

The Minnesota Vikings running back is due to meet with a surgeon next week to discuss his options, according to USA Today.

The 28-year-old sat out two games for the NFC North side with groin and foot injuries in 2013.

Peterson, who will also miss next weekend's Pro Bowl because of the injury, finished the regular season with 1,266 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns.
