Detroit Lions sign safety Taylor Mays

The Detroit Lions have signed safety Taylor Mays just a few days after he was released by the Minnesota Vikings.

It is thought that should the 27-year-old make Detroit's final roster, he will do so under the provision of being a special teamer with a subpackage option on defense.

Mays played just four times for the Cincinnati Bengals between 2011 and 2014, after a rookie period spent at the San Francisco 49ers.

The 2010 Draft pick joined the Vikings in March of this year only to be released earlier this week.
