Half-Time Report: Cleveland Browns ahead at Minnesota Vikings

Browns ahead at Vikings

The Cleveland Browns have taken a 24-17 lead into the halfway stage of their match against the Minnesota Vikings.

The hosts made a fine start to the encounter when they went on an 80-yard drive downfield straight from kickoff that ended with reigning NFL MVP Adrian Peterson scoring a touchdown with a two-yard run.

The Browns were level with 4:50 left in the first quarter, however, as Brian Hoyer threw to Josh Gordon for a 47-yard touchdown.

Cleveland took the lead at the start of the second quarter when Hoyer led his side on a quick drive that resulted in Jordan Cameron catching a 19-yard pass for the touchdown.

The Vikings responded with a touchdown of their own with 10:15 of the quarter remaining, Christian Ponder running himself for a six-yard score.

The Browns took the lead once again with the next score as a 60-yard drive allowed Billy Cundiff to score a field goal from 38 yards, taking the score to 17-14.

Cameron then picked up his second touchdown of the quarter when he caught a pass from Spencer Lanning to extend his side's lead to 10 points.

Blair Walsh reduced the deficit back to seven points late in the quarter when he hit a field goal from 43 yards.
