Stephen Ross to meet Jonathan Martin "soon"

Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross plans to meet with offensive tackle Jonathan Martin "soon", after it was found that he was the victim of harassment last season.

Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has revealed that he plans to hold a meeting with offensive tackle Jonathan Martin "soon".

Martin was at the centre of a much-publicised bullying scandal at the Dolphins last season, being forced out of the team having been subjected to harassment and verbal abuse by three of his teammates.

An NFL investigation into the matter prevented the two from having their original meeting, which was scheduled for November, but Ross is hopeful that they can get together soon now that the report has been released.

"I was precluded from talking to him while the investigation was going on. Now that we got the report, the lawyers are trying to arrange the meeting, which should take place relatively soon, I believe," Ross told reporters.

"I haven't heard what his feelings are; I've read the report. He wants to talk to me as much as [I want to talk to him]. I'm prepared to listen. When you've dealt with something, it's nice to hear from the person directly."

The meeting is expected to be regarding non-football matters, with Martin likely to leave the team during the off-season.
