Report: Miami Dolphins request Richie Incognito grievance delay

The Miami Dolphins have asked for a delay in suspended guard Richie Incognito's non-football injury grievance against the team, according to a report.

Incognito filed the grievance last week due to loss of earnings while he is suspended by the time for allegedly harassing and threatening teammate Jonathan Martin.

The hearing is currently set for Thursday, but ESPN reports that the Dolphins are keen to push the appointment back while they help with an independent investigation into the allegations of bullying.

Under NFL rules, the longest a player can be banned for by his club due to detrimental conduct is four weeks. Incognito has already missed 16 days having been suspended on Sunday 3.

The Dolphins have until December 2 to reactivate Incognito to their roster or to waive him.
