Joe Philbin: 'Miami Dolphins hope Dustin Keller can return soon'

Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin hopes that tight end Dustin Keller will not be a long-term absentee after sustaining a knee injury last night.

Joe Philbin has said that the Miami Dolphins are hoping that Dustin Keller will not be out of action for long after sustaining a knee injury.

The tight end was carted off the field during the AFC East side's loss to the Houston Texans last night after his leg bent backwards under a tackle from DJ Swearinger.

The Dolphins head coach told reporters: "You all saw Dustin Keller get carted off the field. I hate to see any player in that situation. We are all wishing Dustin well and we hope his return is sooner as opposed to later.

"I like the guys we have. Again, we'll have to see what happens. As you said, it's very early in this whole process. We'll take a look at what we have and what our options might be."

Keller, who signed a one-year contract with the Dolphins earlier this year, is due to have an MRI scan later today to determine the extent of the injury.
