Justin Houston signs six-year deal with Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs agree a long-term deal with outside linebacker Justin Houston, who will now spend at least another six years at the NFL side.

The Kansas City Chiefs have agreed a new long-term deal with outside linebacker Justin Houston.

Houston has put pen to paper on a six-year contract and several sources, including NFL Media, suggest that the agreement could see the backer earn $52.5m (£35.5m) in guarantees as part of a $101m (£64.5m) deal.

Should speculation regarding the terms of the deal be true, Houston would become the highest-paid linebacker in the league, while also earning the highest amount of money for a player in Kansas City's history.

Houston earned 22 sacks last season, which came in at just one short of an NFL single-season record.
