Kansas City Chiefs player 'shoots himself, girlfriend' at training facility

A Kansas City Chiefs player has died following an incident at the team's training facility this morning.

Local police confirmed that the player, who has not been named by the authorities, died after shooting himself at Arrowhead Stadium.

The area was cordoned off as the players' teammates started arriving for training.

Police are also investigating another fatal shooting, with reports suggesting that the victim was the player's girlfriend.

The franchise said in a statement: "We can confirm that there was an incident at Arrowhead earlier this morning. We are cooperating with authorities in their investigation."

The Chiefs are scheduled to play the Carolina Panthers at Arrowhead tomorrow.
