Arrowhead game will go ahead despite Belcher shooting

Arrowhead game will go ahead

Today's game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Carolina Panthers will go ahead at Arrowhead Stadium.

The fixture had been in doubt following the suicide of Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher at the facility yesterday.

A statement from the franchise said: "After discussions between the league office, head coach Romeo Crennel and Chiefs team captains, the Chiefs advised the NFL that it will play Sunday's game vs. the Carolina Panthers at its originally scheduled time."

The 25-year-old drove to the stadium after murdering his girlfriend, and shot himself in front of Crennel and general manager Scott Pioli.
