Kansas City Chiefs are the form side heading into this weekend's AFC Championship game with Tennessee Titans, but will they book their place at Super Bowl LIV?

As the end of the NFL season draws closer ahead of next month's Super Bowl LIV, just four teams remain in the hunt to make it to Miami on February 2. The Divisional Rounds were completed over the weekend, with Kansas City Chiefs and Tennessee Titans producing the more eye-catching performances. The teams are now due to square off at the Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday, each looking to end their lengthy waits for their next appearances in the Super Bowl, but who will prevail when they clash in the hours after the other semi-final, which will be contested between San Francisco 49ers and Green Day Packers.

When taking a look at the NFL betting odds throughout this week, you will likely be looking for value when it comes to backing the Chiefs. While they have shown their frailties at times this season, it is difficult to ignore that seven victories have been recorded in succession, suggesting that they are reaching their peak during the most important phase of the campaign. You could have been mistaken for thinking that when they went 24-0 down against the Houston Texans on Sunday night but their stunning comeback - regarded as one of the greatest in NFL's history - means that they are clear favourites to see off the Titans.

With Kansas at 2/7 to win, you may feel that the price is too low to take any interest, but there is plenty of value on the handicap. Both the 5/6 with Tennessee at +7.5 and the 49/50 which is available for Kansas beginning with a -7.5 deficit appeals to us, with the latter getting our vote if forced to choose between the pair. While the Chiefs have scored a remarkable 82 points from their last two fixtures, they have also conceded 52 points, throwing up the likelihood of the Titans being given opportunities to stay within close proximity. The Titans also only conceded 12 points in Saturday's win over Baltimore Ravens, suggesting that they could have the resolve to make things tricky for their hosts. That said, the Chiefs to emerge victorious by a points margin of between seven and 12 points feels about right, which is priced at 4/1.

Should you take an interest in the Titans' form, it is worth noting the fact that they have recorded shutouts in six of the last 12 quarters which they have played. At this stage of the campaign, with the stakes only getting higher, that it mightily impressive, and it should come into your thinking when placing bets this weekend. Those statistics, for us, means that betting on over 51.5 points should be ruled out, so backing the Chiefs and less than 51.5 points at 31/20 makes a lot of sense, as does Under 51.5 points on its own at 10/11. If a speculative punt at higher odds is more your thing, the third quarter being the highest-scoring at 6/1 should be considered. With both teams aware of the prize which is on offer, nerves could take over and that may lead to mistakes being made in defence.
